Ok being the Superman geek(ette?) that I am, I have to say that I thought for sure this had to be the last season of Smallville. I discovered Smallville late and watched several seasons on DVD in a rush session to catch up in time to start watching it when the current season had started several seasons ago. I loved it. But somehow it started to slip somewhere along the way. I'm not sure where, it just did. But now... Now it's starting to be just total win again. It's actually starting to feel like a Superman franchise comic book show, but well still Smallville. I'm not sure what their plans for it are (are there more seasons planned?). I mean Lana, they could lose her no prob. When Lex left I thought oh gee, it's dead. But it's not! It's surviving and thriving. I geek out when Thursday hits again -- and because it's Smallville night, not just because it's Smallville and Earl night.

Though it still seems I'm gonna be waiting ages for the next Superman movie so maybe it's just wishful thinking that Smallville will keep going and going...

USA Weekend Box-Office Summary
week of 3 October 2008
1 Beverly Hills Chihuahua (2008) $29M

Really? I haven't seen the movie, but did see the preview...
People went to see it enough to put it in the top spot?
WOW.
Will they or won't they? Strike that is. Sag is calling for a vote. I'd prefer not, as it could affect my household personally. Call me greedy but I like having the rent paid. My bf isn't union. He wasn't affected by the writer strike because the movie he was on had a completed script in place. He did, however, know people he lost their jobs then. This? A whole different story, we don't know what it will do as he's working on a movie that is filming. Not to mention Los Angeles is already having plenty of financial issues thanks to the national economic crisis you might have heard of.... the State of California was hit hard. This could be trouble.

OJ Simpson and his co-defendant have been found guilty on all charges. I am sure that some will claim it's his celebrity status. Or the jury trying to make right for the "other trial" but the fact is the man took a group of men with guns to a hotel room to steal items he felt were his. They turned on him when caught to save themselves. There were recordings of the event because his buddies knew hey this is OJ... even with the victims wishy washy on whether they wanted him busted or not, the law is the law and intent is intent. He screwed up and jurors are smart. And now he pays for this stupid action. Hell with the whole world having a camera on a cell phone in their pocket, who really takes a group of large men with guns to a tiny hotel room anyway, when you're OJ Simpson? So much could have gone wrong and you'd have a hotel full of people taking pics...
